ARTICLEX OVERTIME PAY <br /> 10. 1 Hours worked in excess of eight (8 ) hours within a <br /> twenty-four ( 24 ) hour period (except for shift changes) or <br /> more than forty ( 40 ) hours within a seven (7 ) day period will <br /> be compensated for at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the <br /> employee ' s regular base pay rate. <br /> 10. 2 Overtime will be distributed as equally as practicable. <br /> 10.3 Overtime refused by employees will for record purposes under <br /> ARTICLE 10. 2 be considered as unpaid overtime worked. <br /> 10.4 For the purpose of computing overtime compensation, overtime <br /> hours worked shall not be pyramided, compounded, or paid <br /> twice for the same hours worked. <br /> • <br /> ARTICLE XI CALL BACK <br /> An employee called in for work at a time other than the <br /> employee' s normal scheduled shift will be compensated for a minimum <br /> of two (2 ) hours' pay at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the <br /> employee' s base pay rate . <br /> ARTICLE XII LEGAL DEFENSE <br /> 12. 1 Employees involved in litigation because of negligence, <br /> ignorance of laws, non-observance of laws, or as a result of <br /> employee judgmental decision may not receive legal defense by <br /> the municipality. <br /> 12. 2 Any employee who is charged with a traffic violation, <br /> •" ordinance violation or criminal offense arising from acts <br /> -12- <br />
