ANTHONY <br /> COUNCIL MINUTES j <br /> WORK SESSION <br /> February 28 , 1980 <br /> � I <br /> I <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7;10 p.m. by Mayor Haik. <br /> Present: Haik, Sundland_, Letourneau. <br /> Absent: Ranallo and Marks. <br /> Also present: Fornell, Hamer. <br /> Dick Moore and Roger -Short, of Short-Elliott-Hendrickson, Inc. , <br /> made a lengthy presentation on the .condition of the City' s bitu- <br /> minous streets, alterative reconstruction/rehabilitation, and i <br /> estimated costs. <br /> Ranallo arrived at 7 : 25 p.m.. , Marks arrived at 7 :40 a.m. <br /> i <br /> , <br /> Considerable Council discussion ensued about financing, cost, condi- ! <br /> tion and life of the streets and resident knowledge and acceptance <br /> of such a program. ' <br /> ' i <br /> Public Works Director Hamer made a presentation on the City's concrete <br /> streets. It was acknowledged that while there are some problems, they { <br /> • are generally in better condition than the bituminous streets. <br /> The Council directed Fornell to draft a- memo on the financing of <br /> street reconstruction/rehabilitation. It was felt that the program <br /> may have to be delayed . until the 1981 construction season so the <br /> community can become aware of the problem and consider any necessary j <br /> tax levy or special assessment to pay for .part of the cost. <br /> I <br /> Fornell then. requested Council approval to send his proposed letter <br /> of February 28,' 1980 to the Minneapolis Sewer Engineer regarding <br /> sewage diversion into Minneapolis due to possible financial ramifi- <br /> cations. 3 <br /> Motion by Councilman S.undland and seconded by Councilman Marks to <br /> direct the Manager ' s letter of February 28, 1980 to the Minneapolis <br /> Sewer Engineer.- be- sent. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. ! <br /> Fornell then explained the necessity of Council action on Resolution <br /> 80-019 regarding the Hennepin County- Criminal Justice Advisory Council. <br /> RESOLUTION 80-0.19 i <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION <br /> IN THE HENNEPIN COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE ` <br /> • COORDINATING COUNCIL (HCCJCC) . j <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> I <br />
