CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> BUDGET WORK SESSION <br /> September 22 , 1981 <br /> t <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8 :00 P.M. by Mayor Pro Tem <br /> Sundland. <br /> Present for roll call: Sundland, Ranallo, Marks , and Letourneau. <br /> Absent: Haik. <br /> Also present: Larry- Hamer, Public Works Director; David Childs , <br /> City Manager; Carol Johnson, Clerk/Treasurer. <br /> The City Manager handed out a .list indicating the basic budget <br /> (revenues and expenditures) , possible revenue changes , and possible <br /> expenditure changes . Discussion followed on each item. <br /> The following decisions and changes were made : <br /> (1) Cut liquor transfer from $400 ,000 to $375 ,000 with availability <br /> by resolution to transfer. $25,000 from the Liquor Fund to the <br /> Capital Equipment Fund, if Liquor operation's 1982 year is <br /> more profitable and additional dollars needed due to state. or <br /> federal cuts. <br /> (.2) In place of $25 ,000 Liquor reduction, use Special Levy for <br /> insurance cost increases from 1971 rates to 1981 rates <br /> • ($24, 713) . <br /> (3) Delete transfer to General Fund from Sewer Fund. Instead, use <br /> $7,000 from Police Special Reserve. <br /> (4) Volunteer Fire Pensions - . $10 ,0.00 from Police Special Reserves , <br /> bringing Police Reserves down to a $16 ,000 balance. Further <br /> study of fire pensions will take place, but this money is set <br /> aside as seed money, if needed. <br /> (5) Reduce Revenue Sharing transfer by $16 ,000 and replace with <br /> Police Special Reserve balance. <br /> (6) Place Fire Special Reserve ($27 ,000) into Capital Equipment <br /> Fund for eventual purchase of fire vehicle in 1982 or 1983 . <br /> (7) Levy $1,000 for H.R.A. for possible conferences , meetings , <br /> publications , etc. <br /> (8) Delay decision on whether or not to add a police officer until <br /> a recommendation is forthcoming from the City Manager (probably <br /> late November/early December) . <br /> (9) Approved using $35 ,000 Water Reserves for replacement of roof <br /> on water reservoir in 1982 . <br />
