• PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br /> FEBRUARY 19, 1962 <br /> 1 .THE MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL MEETING OF JANUARY 23 WERE REVIEWED. THE FOLLOWING <br /> ITEMS WERE OF SPECIAL INTEREST TO THE PLANNING BOARDS <br /> A. A BUILDING CHECK TEST WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE COUNCIL FOR USE BY THE BUILDING <br /> INSPE6TOR, <br /> B, THE BUILDING INSPECTOR AND POLICE DEPARTMENT WERE INSTRUCTED TO INVESTIGATE <br /> A REPORTED LIGHT INDUSTRIAL OPERATION IN THE ST. ANTHONY SHOPPING CENTER. <br /> C. THE PLANNING ,BOARO WAS INSTRUCTED TO REVIEW RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE VILLAGE <br /> ENGINEER AND THE UTILITY COMPANIES IN REGARD TO THE ARVID CARLSON ST. <br /> ANTHONY INDUSTRIAL PARK PROPOSED SUBDIVISION PLAT. <br /> 2. PROPOSED REPLAT OF BLOCK 39 GARDENA ACRES. THE PROPOSED REPLAT WAS DISCUSSED <br /> WITH MR. MIKE .MIHALCHICK. IN VIEW OF THE REZONING BEING CONSIDERED ON 37TH AVE., <br /> IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT THIS REPLATTING BE HELD UNTIL THE ZONING QUESTION HAS <br /> BEEN SETTLED. THIS WAS AGREEABLE TO MR. MIHALCHICK, AND THE PLAT WAS RETURNED <br /> TO HIM. IT WAS ALSO RECOMMENDED THAT THE PLAT, WHEN RESUBMITTED, CONFORM TO <br /> THE REVISED PLATTING ORDINANCE, A COPY OF WHICH WAS GIVEN TO HIM. <br /> 3. MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF NEW BRIGHTON PLANNING COMMISSION. <br /> THREE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NEW BRIGHTON COMMISSION ATTENDED THE MEETING. <br /> ROBERT KELL, CHAIRMAN, GORDON ASSELSTINE, SECRETARY, AND MRt. SWEEGO, MAYOR. <br /> SUBJECTS DISCUSSED INCLUDED: <br /> A. REZONING OF AREA CONTIGUOUS WITH ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE. <br /> B. LOT SIZE REQUIREMENTS AND PLATTING ORDINANCE <br /> C. FUNCTIONS AND MAKE-UP OF PLANNING COMMISSION. IN THIS RESPECT, IT IS NOTED <br /> THAT THE COMMISSION INCLUDES A COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE, THE VILLAGE ATTORNEY, <br /> AND THE VILLAGE ENGINEER. <br /> D. CO-OPERATION IN NAMING OF STREETS. THE NEW BRIGHTON COMMISSION WILL <br /> RECOMMEND THAT THE NAME OF ORCHARD PLACE BE CHANGED TO SILVER LANE TO <br /> CONFORM TO ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE. IT IS REQUESTED THAT THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRA- <br /> TION SEND SIX (6) COPIES OF VILLAGE MAPS TO NEW BRIGHTON TO ASSIST THEM IN <br /> STREET RENAMING. <br /> E. IT WAS AGREED THAT PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES BE EXCHANGED BETWEEN THE <br /> VILLAGES TO AID IN COORDINATING PLANNING, IF THIS IS AGREEABLE WITH THE <br /> I COUNCIL. <br /> 4.. REZONING RECOMMENDATION FOR AREA EAST OF SILVER LAKE ROAD AND NORTH OF Soo LINE <br /> TRACK. A PROPOSAL WAS SUBMITTED BY MR, ROBERT MESINBRING AND MRSi WALT FRIEDLAND <br /> FOR REZONING OF THIS AREA. THE PROPOSAL INCLUDED A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL AREA ALONG <br /> THE RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY AND MIXED SINGLE FAMILY AND MULTIPLE DWELLING ZONING <br /> IN THE REMAINDER OF THE AREA. <br /> IN ORDER TO EXPEDITE THE HEARING TO BE HELD ON REZONING OF THIS AREA, THE <br /> BOARD SET A DEADLINE OF MARCH 19 FOR SUBMITTAL OF ALL PROPOSALS. AT THAT TIME, <br /> THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING, A DATE WILL BE SET FOR A HEARING. <br />
