PLANNING COMMISSION M;NUTES <br /> iSPECIAL MEETING JUNE 4, 1962 <br /> THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:35 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> PRESENT: DOUGHERTY, ROSINEK, CAVANAGH <br /> • ABSENT; ROCKS; SKOVRAN <br /> WALLY LUDWIG, ST. ANTHONY BOWLING LANES APPEARED REGARDING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT. <br /> I',rOVED BY N. CAVANAGH, SECONDED BY B. DOUGHERTY, THAT SPECIAL USE PERMIT BE DENIED. <br /> THIS ACTION WOULD OPEN THE DOOR TO OTHER SIMILAR REQUESTS AND WOULD LEAD TO A <br /> BREAKDOWN OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE. <br /> MOTION CARRIED. <br /> BELAIR CORPORATION REGARDING LEMKE PROPERTY DIVISION FOR APARTMENTS) <br /> PROPERTY IS ZONED COMMERCIAL. IT WAS POINTED OUT TO MR. i�,)URLOWSKI THAT THE <br /> RECENTLY ADOPTED ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT PROHIBITS USE OF PROPERTY ZONED <br /> COMMERCIAL FOR ANY LOWER USE. PLANS FOR THE AREA ARE NOT FIRM, BUT MIGHT <br /> INCLUDE OFFICE BUILDINGS. <br /> DIVISION OF ANTHONY IfVIAJCHROWICZ PROPERTY AT 35TH AND BELDEN DRIVE. <br /> THE DIVISION OF THIS PROPERTY AT 3535 BELDEN, NOW 120 FEET WIDE, INTO TWO 60 FT. <br /> LOTS HAS BEEN RECONSIDERED. THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT THIS DIVISION NOT BE <br /> APPROVED. SIXTY FOOT LOTS WOULD NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE OTHER PROPERTY IN <br /> THE AREA. <br /> DIVISION OF NICHOLAS KITCHAR PROPERTY AT 3432 SILVER LAKE ROAD <br /> THE PROPERTY IS SHOWN AS 3440 SILVER LAKE ROAD. ViR. KITCHAR AGREED TO TALK TO <br /> HIS NEIGHBOR ON THE NORTH ABOUT ACQUIRING AN ADDITIONAL 20 FEET WHICH WOULD GIVE <br /> A TOTAL LOT WIDTH OF 150 FEET. THE PROPERTY COULD THEN BE DIVIDED INTO TWO <br /> 75 FOOT LOTS. <br /> EDWARD ERICKSON TO APPEAR REGARDING PROPERTY - LOT 111 BLOCK 4, K!'OUNDS VIEW <br /> ACRES, 2ND ADDITION <br /> MR. ERICKSON HAS REQUESTED A DIVISION OF THE EAST 170 FT. OF THIS LOT INTO TWO <br /> LOTS 75 AND 95 FEET WIDE. THIS DIVISION WOULD NOT BE DESIRABLE BECAUSE OF THE <br /> POSSIBILITY OF A STREET THROUGH THE AREA ON THE EAST EDGE OF THE PRESENT LOT TO <br /> MAKE THE INTERIOR OF THE LOTS BETWEEN THE S00 LINE TRACKS, FORDHAM DRIVE AND <br /> SILVER LANE ACCESSIBLE FOR DEVELOPMENT. THIS ROAD, ENDING IN A CUL-DE-SAC, WAS <br /> LAID OUT BY HOWARD DAHLGREN IN HIS ORIGINAL STUDY OF THE RAMSEY COUNTY PROPERTY <br /> FOR THE VILLAGE. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE ENGINEERS BE DIRECTED TO LAY OUT A <br /> STREET ALONG THE LINES PROPOSED BY MR. DAHLGREN, AND THAT THIS PROPERTY BE <br /> ACQUIRED OR DESIGNATED SO THAT THE PROPERTY CAN BE PROPERLY DEVELOPED. <br /> THE ERICKSON PROPERTY SHOULD FRONT ON THE NEW STREET, WHICH WOULD POSSIBLY AFFECT <br /> PRESENT ASSESSMENTS FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON SILVER LANE. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE <br /> • CONSIDERED BY THE VILLAGE ATTORNEY. ALSO, A PETITION PRESENTLY PENDING FOR <br /> EXTENSION OF SEWER AND WATER SERVICE TO THE EAST ON SILVER LANE SHOULD BE HELD <br /> UP UNTIL THE STREET PROBLEM IS RESOLVED. TO ALLOW THE ERICKSON PROPERTY TO BE <br /> . DEVELOPED, IT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE NEW STREET COULD BE GRADED AND GRAVEL <br /> SURFACED IN FROM SILVER LANE A DISTANCE SUFFICIENT TO ALLOW ACCESS TO THEIR LOT. <br />
