CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> PLANNING. BOARD MINUTES <br /> August 17 ,1976 <br /> t <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bowerman at 7 :36 P.M. <br /> Present at roll call: Rymarchick, Marks , Bowerman-,_ Cowan. <br /> Absent: Letourneau, Hiebel, Johnson <br /> Also Present: Jim Fornell, Adm. Asst. <br /> Motion by Rymarchick, seconded by Cowan to approve the July 20 , 1976 <br /> Planning Board minutes , as submitted. <br /> The adoption of the new zoning ordinance was discussed. Members <br /> requested copies of the ordinance as soon as possible. <br /> Mr. Jack Lawrence of Signcrafters was not present to present his <br /> request for a variance to permit a free-standing sign- at Pizza <br /> Hut, 3901 Stinson Boulevard. <br /> Rymarchick expressed his concern about the unsightliness of <br /> Sroga's Standard Service Station, 3201 Stinson Boulevard, and <br /> felt the City should encourage Mr. Sroga to clean the property up. <br /> • It was noted that when the Planning Board approved the permit for <br /> the service station in 1953 , the members stipulated that the <br /> premises "be kept clean and orderly with no accumulation of old <br /> cars , tin-cans or other debris" . <br /> Mr. Cowan advised that the City should diplomatically advise <br /> Mr. Sroga to tidy up the property. <br /> Motion by Mr. Rymarchick, seconded by Mr.. .Marks to direct the <br /> City staff to contact Mr. Sroga about cleaning up his service <br /> station and surrounding land and to solicit Mr. Sroga' s proposals <br /> for cleaning up and dressing up his station. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Planning Board members suggested that the City Council <br /> investigate the possibility of storing abandoned vehicles at <br /> the Public Works Department yard, room permitting, thereby <br /> reducing the number of vehicles stored at Mr. Sroga' s station <br /> and also collecting the storage and/or disposal fees for the City. <br /> Jim Fornell was directed to research ordinances on group care <br /> houses, family care houses , etc. as a possible amendment to the <br /> zoning ordinance. He is to report back at the September Planning <br /> Board meeting. <br /> Mr. Marks wondered about the status of discussions on the St. <br /> • Anthony Shopping Center. He was informed that Wil Johnson is <br /> most knowledgeable about the latest activities . <br /> R <br />
