ANTHONY PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MOTIONS August 19, 1986 Motion by Commissioner Werenicz and seconded by Commissioner Hansen. to recommend the Council grant the request from Roger Bona for a variance to allow construction of a 14 foot by 40 foot addition to the north side of the existing Amoco Service Station at 2812 - 27th Avenue N.E. with an eleven foot setback from the north property line where the City Ordinance requires 30 feet, finding that: 1 . The petitioner had answered in the affirmative all the questions on the application which are required by statute to be answered affirmatively; 2. The unique characteristics of this triangular shaped property would create an undue hardship for the owner to try to expand and improve his property under the City Ordinance; 3. No objections from the neighbors to the proposal were received; 4. Mr. Bona controls all the property to the west precluding any objections from adjacent property owners; 5. The property owner has indicated he would be willing to provide overflow park- ing when required on the north side of the existing meat market building which • he also owns;. and 6. Granting this variance would not create a sight line difficulty for adjacent properties since the station is bounded on two sides by roadways and on the West by the property he owns which is in a commercial posture. Before the vote was taken, the following motion to amend was made: Motion by Commissioner Jones and seconded by Commissioner Wagner to require the areas near the station sign and between the driveways on the north side of the property be landscaped and curbed to restrict parking in those areas. Voting on the amendment: Aye: Jones and Wagner. Nay: Werenicz, Franzese, Madden, Hansen, and Bowerman. Motion not carried. Voting on the original motion: Aye: Werenicz, Hansen, Franzese, Madden, Bowerman, and Wagner. Nay: Jones.. Motion carried.
