w <br /> CITY OF ST _ ANTHONY <br /> • PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> ( Summation of Motions ) <br /> October 21 , 1986 <br /> Meeting called at 7:30 P.M. by Chair Franzese. <br /> Present for roll call : Hansen, Wagner, Franzese, Werenicz, Madden. <br /> Absent: Jones and Bowerman. <br /> Also present: Larry Hamer, Public Works Director (substitution for City Manager) . <br /> APPLICATIONS ACTED ON BY COMMISSION <br /> ROBERT PARMELEE REQUEST FOR SETBACK VARIANCE FOR 2501 PAHL AVENUE N.E. <br /> Request: to expand existing 14 foot X 20 foot attached garage to a 20 foot X <br /> 20 foot double garage to within 19 feet of alley setback; <br /> to extend existing breezeway six feet west to bring it into alignment <br /> with garage structure. <br /> Proponents: Mr. Parmelee and neighbor Donald Kraft (2504 St. Anthony Boulevard) <br /> -telephone message-. <br /> • Opponents: none. <br /> Staff input: ordinance setback requirements for eaves apply only to outbuildings <br /> and not to major structures. <br /> Commission Recommends Approval with Conditions <br /> Motion by Werenicz, seconded by Hansen to recommend the Council grant an 11 foot <br /> variance to the Ordinance requirement for 30 foot sideyard- setbacks to Robert L. <br /> Parmelee which would allow him to add another stall to the existing attached garage <br /> and to extend the existing breezeway on the home at 2501 Pahl Avenue N.E. six feet <br /> further west to bring it into alignment with the garage, on the conditon that: <br /> 1 . The five foot, three inch gap between the garage and the building used for <br /> storing automobiles the owner renovates and collects, be maintained with con- <br /> struction and afterwards by removing the overhang on the outbuilding, if <br /> necessary; and <br /> 2. The pickup truck parked on the property be disposed of. <br /> In recommending the variance be- granted the Commission finds that: <br /> a. the applicant had answered all three questions in the application in the <br /> affirmative as required by statute; <br /> • b. there was no one present during the hearing who spoke in opposition to the <br /> variance and staff reported receiving no calls for or against the request <br /> prior to the hearing, <br />
