No one present <br /> 21 reported failure to receive the notice or objected to its content. <br /> 22 Staff Report <br /> 23 Acting City Manager VanderHeyden reported that real estate signs are <br /> 24 allowed under the Sign Ordinance for a six month period on a temporary <br /> 25 basis, and that a variance is necessary due to previous Commission and <br /> 26 Council action (January, 1989) requiring that all existing shopping <br /> 27 center signage be removed and any new signage placed only in accordance <br /> 28 with the approved signage plan. <br /> 29 Chair Madden noted that the proposed location of the sign was next to <br /> 30 the reader board on the shopping center wall, and that there was no room <br /> 31 for a 16 square foot sign at that location. Acting City Manager <br /> 32 VanderHeyden stated that to the best of her understanding the sign was <br /> 33 to be placed on the rear fascia of the St. Anthony Shopping Center. <br /> 34 Chair Madden suggested that the Commission obtain the exact location <br /> 35 of the proposed sign from the Coldwell Banker representative. <br /> 36 Commissioner Wagner asked whether the Sign Ordinance limited the number <br /> 37 of real estate signs.
