1 PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
APRIL 21 , 1992
PAGE 15
4
5
6 ' Murphy inquired if staff has contacted other cities with
7 regard to their ordinances for parking of recreational
8 vehicles and equipment . Burt responded some cities have
9 a prohibition of parking of commercial vehicles in
10 residential areas .
11
12 Gondorchin felt the length criteria would be more
13 effective to write the ordinance revision on. He thinks
14 the larger units are more irritating.
15
16 Werenicz suggested that the Police Department be made
17 aware of some of the community concerns in this matter
18 and to concentrate on enforcement . Burt noted that if the
19 Police Department were responsible for enforcement there
20 would be the added dimension of better record keeping.
21
22 C. Review of Proposed Revisions to Sian Ordinance
23
24 The proposed revisions to the Sign Ordinance were
25 distributed at the Planning Commission Meeting.
26
7 The proposed revisions were briefly scanned by members of
the Commission . The document had not been proofread and
9 there were some paragraphs left out .
30
31 Burt noted that the Management Assistant had added to or
32 redefined some of the language of the current Sign
33 Ordinance rather than that drafting an entire new
34 ordinance. He felt the Commission members should be aware
35 that the City is expecting some sign requests which may
36 not have been made in the past . Some examples are for the
37 CUB Store if the project goes ahead, a movie theater and
38 monument signs .
39
40 Urbia recommended that a * subcommittee be formed from
41 among members of the Planning Commission, representatives
42 of the St . Anthony Chamber of Commerce, business people
43 in the City, and representatives of the two shopping
44 malls in the City. He suggested this subcommittee plan to
45 meet in the next couple of weeks .
46
47 Faust inquired what regulations would have to be
48 considered regarding this subcommittee to be in
49 compliance with the Open Meeting Law. It was determined
50 that it could be served by two or three members of the
51 Planning Commission . Burt advised that the subcommittee
52 meetings will be posted in compliance with the Open
Meeting Law.
