STAFF UPDATE
31
32 Apache Plaza
33
34 The City Manager met with representatives of Super Value last
35 week. He felt the article which appeared in the Bulletin
36 erroneously reported the situation as to the delay in the CUB
37 decision. The article made it appear as though the City is
38 causing the delay.
39
40 Super Value representatives were upset by the article but have
4.1 found out why the incorrect information was printed.
42
43 The City Manager noted that Dennis Cavanaugh has not been
44 cooperative with Super Value and has changed both of the
45 proposals received for the CUB Store . The City Manager felt
46 this proposed store is the last hope for Apache Plaza.
47
48 Demographics in the St . Anthony area were supportive of this
49 store. If Super Value were to put a CUB store at both Apache
50 Plaza and at 18th and Central Avenues , both of the stores
51 would be smaller . If only one CUB store were built , and it was
52 located at Apache Plaza, it would be larger .
