1 PLANNING COMMISSION - <br /> MAY 19 , 1992 <br /> to PAGE 15 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 and to draft a list for proposal to the City Council . <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Urbia suggested that when a game or kiddie ride becomes <br /> 9 obsolete or broken it could be replaced from the list of <br /> 10 approved entertainment devices . <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Chairman Faust felt the Planning Commission is being <br /> 13 requested to describe something that the industry has not <br /> 14 been able to do, leaving the Commissioners at a loss to <br /> 15 pick and choose. He suggested that Mr. Alwan bring in <br /> 16 pictures of all the amusement devices he would like to <br /> 17 have in his establishment . <br /> 18 <br /> 19 The-City Attorney felt a list of thirty amusement devices <br /> 20 be compiled for approval and that Mr . Alwan could choose <br /> 21 twenty from that list . <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Commissioner Gondorchin noted that the restaurant <br /> 24 operation is being very dependent on these amusement <br /> 25 devices . <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Commissioner Madden was of the opinion that Mr. Alwan is <br /> being bounced back and forth between the City Council and <br /> the Planning Commission . <br /> 30 <br /> 31 The City Manager noted that the City Council is <br /> 32 requesting a definition rather than a recommendation from <br /> 33 the Planning Commission . He recommended the suggestion of <br /> 34 the City Attorney that being, to list out the kiddie <br /> 35 games and rides , be considered . <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Chairman Faust felt staff should look at the equipment <br /> 38 and make recommendations to the Council to approve or <br /> 39 disapprove .' Commissioner Franzese noted that there has to <br /> 40 be discretion on someone ' s part . She felt the staff <br /> 41 should determine what amusement devices are acceptable. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Motion by Franzese, second by Madden that Mr . Alwan bring <br /> 44 pictures of his choices for kiddie rides and games to be <br /> 45 located in his place of business , to City staff .which <br /> 46 will be brought to the Council , that choices be made by <br /> 47 staff using its discretion , and furthermore, if an <br /> 48 amusement device needs to be replaced, that staff <br /> 49 approves the replacement . <br /> 50 <br /> 51 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 52 <br />
