Commissioner Franzese commented that <br /> 8 there are seminars which address substandard lots in inner <br /> 9 ring suburbs . She felt the City needed a well thought out <br /> 10 philosophy. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 It was the consensus of the Planning Commission members that <br /> 13 information regarding how many lots presently exist in the <br /> 14 City which would qualify for this consideration be gotten <br /> 15 before -any policy could be formulated. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 The matter was tabled for additional information. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 <br /> 20 7 . STAFF UPDATE <br /> 21 <br /> 22 A. Proposed Ordinance Changes <br /> 23 <br /> 24 The items contained in the memo from Urbia to the City Manager <br /> 25 addressed proposed ordinance changes as discussed at the joint <br /> 26 meeting of the Planning Commission and the City Council . <br /> 27 <br /> Commissioner Madden noted that the items addressed in the memo <br /> did not take the form of recommendations to the City Council <br /> 30 from the Planning Commission. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Regarding the issue of attendance, Chairperson Faust felt the <br /> 33 original language should be put back into the ordinance . He <br /> 34 mentioned the issue of compensation for Commissioners to the <br /> 35 Mayor and to the staff . <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Commissioner Werenicz inquired if compensation was legal . <br /> 38 Commissioner Gondorchin questioned whether this would be <br /> 39 compensation or a per diem. Urbia will research the matter but <br /> 40 noted that the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities had <br /> 41 advised that no planning commission members in the <br /> 42 metropolitan area receive any compensation . <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Commissioner Franzese felt work rendered by commissioners is <br /> 45 recognized by compensation but this is not being proposed for <br /> 46 'next year ' s budget . She also felt the dollar amount mentioned <br /> 47 is not significant . <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Chairperson Faust felt compensation is appropriate. <br /> 50 Commissioner Werenicz does not support compensation. <br />
