PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
JANUARY 19, 1993
PAGE 12

Commissioner Madden felt .there was uneven enforcement . He
cited an instance of non-conforming signs in his
neighborhood which he had reported to staff on numerous
occasions . He felt his concerns had been ignored.

Motion by Franzese, second by Madden to inform the City
Council there is a perception that there is a lack of
enforcement of the sign ordinance which is a frustration
to the members of the Planning Commission , and that the
Pl-ann-ing Commission requests that the City Council
provide guidance to the City staff on the enforcement of
the new sign ordinance in view of the preceived lack of
enforcement of the previous ordinance.

Motion carried unanimously

Referring to the issue addressed in Subd. 2 ( 1 ) ,
Commissioner Madden feels this subsection should be
stated so it is understood the intent was for one sign to
face one street and not two signs facing the same street .
He felt identification signs were intended to face two
different streets and not as staff had recommended.

Motion by Madden, second by Franzese to recommend to the
City Council the sign ordinance be amended to require
each idenfication sign face one right-of-way frontage ;
one sign per frontage only.

Motion carried unanimously

9 . COMMISSIONER' S COMMENTS

a .
