Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> November 19, 1996 <br /> • Page 5 <br /> 1 Commissioner Thompson reported there would be a public information hearing regarding <br /> 2 the bridge project on December 3, 1996 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Apache Plaza. <br /> 3 B. Staff. <br /> 4 1. December Public Hearings. <br /> 5 a. None. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 2. Comprehensive Plan Update Task Force. <br /> 8 Chair Bergstrom explained the two at large representatives, Anthony Kaczor and <br /> 9 Constance Kozlak had been chosen as they had been present at the joint meeting last <br /> 10 month and had expressed interest. He questioned the identity of Jeanette Solie. <br /> 11 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated she had asked Public Works Director and he had informed her <br /> 12 that Ms. Solie was a phenomenal Realtor, did her own work, was knowledgeable and <br /> 13 very helpful. Ms. Moore-Sykes reported City Manager has suggested that the Chamber <br /> 14 of Commerce President be appointed as the representative for the Retail/Commercial <br /> 15 area. He also had advised that George Wagner is a member of the Kiwanis and would be <br /> 16 able to fill two roles. <br /> 17 Commissioner.Makowske stated he felt the best means to get information back to the <br /> community was through community representatives on the task force. <br /> 19 Commissioner Franzese stated she did not know Jeanette Solie but was aware that her <br /> 20 husband Ken Solie owned the Macalaster Apartments, American Monarch property and <br /> 21 the property to the east of the American Monarch Building. <br /> 22 Chair Bergstrom asked what Healthy Youth/Healthy Community was. <br /> 23 Commissioner Makowske stated it is a group which includes the churches and other <br /> 24 members of the community, which was founded to focus on more positive opportunities <br /> 25 for youth. <br /> 26 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated a representative from this organization would represent various <br /> 27 organizations and interests of the community. <br /> 28 Chair Bergstrom asked if this was a viable organization. Commissioner Makowske stated <br /> 29 he was not sure but his recommendation would be to return churches as that <br /> 30 representative. <br /> 31' Commissioner Makowske asked how Kim Johnson had been appointed to the School <br /> 32 Representative position. <br /> aMs. Moore-Sykes stated he had been suggested by Warren Rolek, Superintendent of <br /> 34 Schools. <br />
