PUBLIC HEARINGS.
1. 97-08, Rick Lorenz, 3821 Foss Road - Sideyard Setback Variance Request.
Ms. Moore-Sykes reported Rick Lorenz, property owner of 3821 Foss Road, submitted an
application for a ten-foot side yard variance request to the City in order to construct an addition
to the tri-plex, converting the building into a four-plex with a double car tuck-under garage. Mr.
Lorenz intends to live in this new addition and is also planning to add a 10 x 20 storage room on
the back of the proposed addition. She advised the Certificate of Survey shows both the living
space addition and the storage room to be eight feet into the required 15-foot side yard setback.
The proposed layout of the addition is configured to take advantage of the existing driveway.
Mr. Lorenz is also proposing to remove an existing storage building to the east of the proposed
addition, thereby reducing the lot coverage and getting rid of an old building to improve the
storm water drainage of the property. This building appears to have been in the side yard as
well.
