-2-
for the land, as previously agreed- to, before November lst, the •
consultant reiterated that he believes a "reasonable extension, with
only minor conditions attached, would be in order" . A formal request
for the extension would be presented to the H.R.A. as soon as Mr. Krier
receives it and he assured the H-.R.A. members the request would be .
accompanied by a- diagram .showing the sun shading for a taller build-
ing than originally approved so neighbors ' concerns about the effect
of-- the -building on their properties can be answered satisfactorily.
The consultant indicated -he perceives there would be no need for a
long term bond since the payment by the redevelopers would improve
the cash flow for the project.
Judge Crane Winton had ordered the condemnation of the subject parcels
which must be acquired for Phase - 1 and it is Mr. Krier's conjecture
that the condemnation process would be permitted to be completed
because of the desire by all concerned parties to get the title
cleared. There had been a long, long list of parties who had to be
notified of the condemnation proceedings , Mr. Krier said, and the
survey had revealed a discrepancy- in the land description for the
body shop property which now indicates a maximum of ten feet of land
which had been assumed to belong to Hobie Swan, actually belongs to
the body shop parcel. On the other parcel there had been a contract
for deed owner who had imposed difficult conditions on the sale of that
land.
Commissioner Ranallo said he would certainly go along with the
request for an extension of the redeveloper ' s agreement and perceives
the construction might even be started in February . The Chairman
said he believed the developer had handled the whole matter in a
very responsible manner and the building addition request, coming in - .
this manner, had certainly been appropriate, since the survey had
confirmed that the parking originally proposed for the building would
not be marketable.
Motion by Secretary/Treasurer Marks and seconded by Commissioner
Enrooth to approve the assignment- of the contract with Westwood
Planning and Engineering Company for planning services on the Kenzie
Terrace Redevelopment Project ,to, the Derrick Land Company in order that
Dick Krier could continue to serve as consultant to the H .R.A. on
that project.
Motion carried unanimously .
Motion by Secretary/Treasurer Marks and seconded by Commissioner
Ranallo to adjourn the St. Anthony Housing and Redevelopment Authroity
at 8: 19 P.M. -
Motion carried unanimously.
Respectfully submitted,
Helen Crowe, Secretary •
