CITY OF ST. ANTHONY
REQUEST .FOR PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION
Date Submitted Type of Action Requested Agenda Item Number
October 12,. 1984 Concept Review
X Formal Action/Motion Public Hearings-c
Date Action Informational Title
Requested
Other Variance-Michael
October 16, 1984 Anderson (2608-33rd)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
TO: St. Anthony Planning Commission
FROM: David M. Childs , City Manager
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY DISCUSSION OF SUBJECT: Based on last month ' s concept review, Mr.
Michael Anderson has applied for a variance to allow construction of a 34 foot
house on the existing 47' X 156' lot at 2608-33rd Avenue N.E. A 2' variance is
needed to allow the house. Because of the narrowness of the lot , a case can be
made for a hardship based on topographic or size characteristics . I received a
call from Mrs. Taylor, the neighbor to the east . She stated that she would feel
better about a 7 foot sideyard setback on her side than a 6 foot setback.
I have also attached a copy of the proposed Hertog subdivision which will be on the
November agenda. Based on their plan, it would appear that a 5' setback on the
west and an 8' setback on the east would be the best arrangement for Mr. Anderson
and his neighbors .
ALTERNATIVES : Recommend approval , modify or recommend denial .
RECOM!1ENDATION: Staff recommends approval with an 8' setback on the east and a
5' setback on the west .
i
I
i
ATTACHMENTS :
I` X Plan X Application Form
!
