MISCELLANEOUS
2 Chair Madden noted that St. Anthony Self-Storage has a wall sign on the
3 upper part of their building facing west, as well as a very large lawn
4 sign.
5 He also noted that although Hardee's originally agreed to erect a
6 masonry base around their sign, the base as constructed is stucco.
7 Commissioner Hansen expressed the opinion that the "Vargas" sign across
8 the street from Hardee's did not meet the definition of substantial
9 construction, and suggested that the Commission recommended either its
10 removal or that it be brought up to City code. Chair Madden agreed,
11 and pointed out that it appeared as though dirt had been piled near the
12 bottom of the sign to create the impression that it isa ground-hugging
13 sign when in fact it is not.
14 Commissioner Franzese noted that the new owners of the Medtronics
15 building were permitted to erect a ground-hugging sign but that no
16 landscaping has been done around the base of the sign and it appears to
17 be crooked.
18 Commissioner Wagner indicated that he received .a communication from
19 Dave Childs to the Planning Commission thanking the Commission for the
OYmany enjoyable times he had had working with the Commission.
, ADJOURNMENT
22 Motion by Hansen, seconded by Wagner to adjourn the meeting at 9: 32
23 P.M.
24 Motion carried unanimously.
25 Respectfully submitted,
26 Doris Hoskin, Secretary
27
28 Mayor
29 ATTEST:
30 •City Clerk
Is :cjk
15
