CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> • NOVEMBER 14, 1989 COUNCIL MEETING <br /> 1 1 . CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> 2 <br /> 3 The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Mayor Pro Tem Ranallo. <br /> 4 The Pledge of Allegiance was led by members of Scout Troup #711 from St. <br /> 5 Charles School whose leader is Tom Patrick. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 2. ROLL CALL <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Present : Councilmembers Marks, Enrooth, Makowske and Mayor Pro Tem <br /> 10 Ranallo. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Absent - Mayor Sundland <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Also present : Tom Burt , City Manager <br /> 15 Sue VanderHeyden - Assistant to the City Manager <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Mayor Pro__ Tem Ranallo had spoken to Mayor Sundland who is hospitalized. <br /> 18 The Mayor requested that his thanks for -all of the cards, flowers, and good <br /> 19 wishes he had received during his hospitalization be extended to the many <br /> 20 friends and neighbors who had remembered him. as well as his wife, Ardel.l , <br /> • 21 who is also in the hospital . <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Mayor Pro Tem Ranallo wished the Mayor and his wife a speedy recovery. <br /> 2.4 <br /> 25 Tom Burt, the new City Manager, was welcomed by Mayor Pro Tem Ranallo <br /> 26 on behalf of the Council . He also thanked Sue VanderHeyden for doing a very <br /> 27 good job in the absence of a City Manager. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 3• APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 24, 1989 COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Motion by Marks, second by En tooth to approve the minutes of the' October <br /> 32 24, 1989 Council Meeting. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 35 <br /> 36 APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 7, 1989 CITY ELECTION RESULTS MEETING <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Motion by Marks, second by Makowske to approve the minutes of the November <br /> 39 7, 1989 City Election Results Meeting. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Makowske distributed an enlarged copy of the article which appeared in the <br /> 44 November 8th edition of the Star E Tribune newspaper regarding the election <br /> 45 results in St. Anthony. The article erroneously stated that Ranallo had <br /> 46 won the election over Enrooth. Mayor Pro Tem Ranallo stated he had tried to <br /> • J47 contact the .paper twice requesting a correction. To date, no correction <br /> 48 has appeared in the paper. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 4. LICENSES <br />
