14 <br /> 1 development . Commissioner Hansen asked Mr . Brewer to <br /> 2 describe the Twin Lake Worth development and the number of <br /> 3 directional signs . Mr . Brewer replied that there are many <br /> 4 directional signs because the development consists of five <br /> 5 parking lots , 20 buildings , and 276 units . Mr. Brewer <br /> 6 stated that the Twin Lake ?forth monument sign is seven feet <br /> 7 high. Commissioner Wagner asked why the Autumn Woods sign <br /> 8 must be 16 feet high if the Twin Lake Worth sign is only <br /> 9 seven feet high, and why Sign Number 2 , only 50 feet down <br /> 10 the Autumn Woods driveway, repeats the same information . <br /> 11 Commissioner Hansen pointed out that the directional signs <br /> 12 requested for Autumn Woods were three by five feet, and <br />---- - ---- --13 --appeared--to—be—lar-ger--than -tho-se__for the_-Twin Lake North <br /> 14 deve:, opme.nt . l;r . Rrewer replied that the Twin Lake ;'orth <br /> 15 directional signs are 3p;:-roxirateiy four and a half fees_ <br /> 16 high by three feet wide. Mr . Brewer emphasized that signs <br /> 17 must be of sufficient size to be visible . <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Motion by Wagner , seconded by Werenicz , to recommend that <br /> 20 the City Council grant a -variance to LaNel Financial Group, <br /> 21 Inc . for Autumn Woods -.partments for the signs designated in <br /> 22 LaNel ' s proposal as Signs Number 1 and 3; that they each be <br /> 23 15 square feet in size; that Signs Number 2 and 4 be <br /> 24 directional signs with apartment complex numbers only , not <br /> 25 to exceed five square feet apiece ; that if more than five <br /> 26 square feet are necessary to include the numbers on Sign <br /> 27 Number 2 , that that be included as a variance , up to ten <br /> 28 square feet maximum; that neither Sign 2 nor Sign 4 would <br /> 29 carry the logo; and that all directional signs be one-sided. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Chairperson Madden introduced the issue of the temporary <br /> 34 signage located near Rosie ' s Restaurant and the three "now <br /> 35 renting" banners requested by LaNel . City Manager Burt <br /> 36 informed the Commission that there are many temporary signs <br /> 37 throughout the immediate area advertising the location of <br /> 38 Autumn Woods . <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Mr. Brewer listed for the Commission the various temporary <br /> 41 signs . He stated that there is one sign on the end of the <br /> 42 building which will come down. There is a sign- in front of <br /> 43 Building A which has a picture of the building, and which <br /> 44 will come down when the monument sign goes up. As soon as <br /> 45 the directional signs go up the rental center signs will <br /> 46 come down. Mr. Brewer agreed, in response to a question by <br /> 47 Commissioner Wagner, that all the temporary signage will <br /> 48 come down by May 1 , 1990 . He indicated that LaNel may <br /> 49 return on May 1 , 1990 to ask for an extension on the <br /> 50 temporary sign near Rosie ' s Restaurant , depending upon the <br />
