City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> April 22, 1997 <br /> Page 8 <br /> 1 7. Liquor Store Update. <br /> 2 Mornson reported the City is close to signing the purchase agreement. The <br /> 3 environmental study has been authorized and should be completed within two to three <br /> 4 weeks. A meeting was held with KKE Architects to walk through the Tires Plus <br /> 5 building and they will be submitting a schedule by the end of the week. Mornson <br /> 6 noted originally the Public Works Department was intending to install the sewer. Mr. <br /> 7 Hamer has since declined because the sewer is too deep and the City does not have the <br /> 8 correct equipment. The Public Works Department will be removing a wall in the <br /> 9 building. <br /> 10 Mornson reported many businesses have been proposed for Lot 4. The City will not <br /> 11 be given the egress easement until OPUS exercises their option. If the easement is not <br /> 12 given, the storm sewer system will have to be revised. This will be accomplished in <br /> 13 the form of a change order. <br /> 14 8. MAMA Meeting, Legislative Update - April 17, 1997. <br /> 15 Mornson reported the discussion at this meeting focused on property taxes and tax <br /> 16 increment financing. <br /> 17 9. Pre-construction Meeting for 1997 Street Reconstruction - April 17, 1997. <br /> 18 Mornson reported the contractor is planning to start construction on May 20 with <br /> 19 completion on July 15, 1997. The inspector will be contacting neighbors this month. <br /> 20 Mornson stated he would like to discuss 1998 Street Improvements at the June work <br /> 21 session. <br /> 22 10. Demolition of Parkview Update. <br /> 23 Mornson reported five or six bidders have expressed interest in the project. Bids will <br /> 24 open on Tuesday and will be awarded on May 13, 1997. <br /> 25 11. City Web Page Update. <br /> 26 Mornson reported John C., technical coordinator at the School is working with the <br /> 27 children to design a City web page for St. Anthony. The City and school will each <br /> 28 award $25 for the winning design. Mornson noted Kim Moore-Sykes is working with <br /> 29 Pat Cook on the possibility of hooking the City up to the Internet at a cost of$3,000 <br /> 30 which could be paid with cable funds. If there is an interest, this issue can be <br /> 31 discussed at a work session. <br /> 32 12.
