Tom Wratkowski and Don Troupe volunteered. <br /> 13 Kozarek suggested Jane Hintz as a sub-committee member as well. Kuharski said he <br /> 14 thought Hintz is a good choice as she did not have flood loss. Kozarek said she <br /> 15 would call Hintz. If Hintz not available, Lohmar will be alternate. Kuharski stated <br /> 16 that if they need Staff assistance, the sub-committee will ask for it. <br /> 17 Kuharski asked where the funds to redevelop the City's parks is coming from. He <br /> 18 felt these funds could be used for a better purpose. Moore-Sykes indicated that <br /> 19 there is no money appropriated for redevelopment; only maintenance. <br /> 20 V. REVIEW PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED SINCE LAST MEETING. <br /> 21 Willenbring, WSB, presented a summary of the issues raised from the July 30th <br /> 22 meeting. He asked the committee to let him know if he was going off track. <br /> 23 Lohmar stated that people need to take some personal responsibility for flood <br /> 24 proofing their property. <br /> 25 A. Water inundates street creates hazards for motorists and damages vehicles. <br /> 26 Lockrem stated that an acceptable depth of water in the street should be <br /> 27 determined. Jacobs said this was a common sense issue. Cavanaugh stated that the <br /> 28 street is part of the storm water system. Roads are constructed to drain up to a 5 - <br /> 29 10 year event. McConnell-Powe stated that when water is in the street, it is a <br /> 30 hazard to motorists and homowners because if the water is too deep, motorists <br /> 31 drive up on the lawn. <br /> 32 Motion by Kuharski, second by Otte to list this issue as low priority, long-term. <br /> 33 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 34 B. Water leaks in basement but does not physically contact structure. <br /> 35 Committee felt this issue is a private property owner's responsibility. <br /> 36 Motion by Otte, second by Kuharski to give no consideration to this issue. <br />
