i <br /> City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> September 8, 1998 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 1 Mayor Ranallo thanked the Kiwanis organization representatives for their hard work and efforts <br /> 2 which have supported many youth programs in St. Anthony. <br /> 3 Mayor Ranallo reported the Council had just left a meeting at 6:00 P.M. with the School Board <br /> 4 to discuss necessary recourse upon the event of sale of the Salvation Army camp. He stated a <br /> 5 meeting was scheduled for September 21 with Ramsey County Commissioner Jan Weissner, <br /> 6 Mike Mornson and himself. He added the City would become involved in any event for <br /> 7 rezoning purposes. <br /> 8 Mayor Ranallo stated he received a letter of resignation from Parks Commissioner Andrea <br /> 9 Lambrecht and stressed the importance of filling that position in a timely manner. <br /> 10 C. City Manager. <br /> 11 Mr. Mornson stated he had spoken with George Wagner, pertaining to his interest in beingf a <br /> 12 Planning Commission candidate,and Mr. Wagner has agreed to accept the position. He added <br /> 13 that the Planning Commission,with the addition of Mr. Wagner,will now be fully staffed. <br /> 14 Mr. Morrison stated a meeting has been tentatively scheduled with the Harding Neighborhood <br /> 15 subcommittee for September 23 to discuss ponding. <br /> 16 Mr. Mornson stated a letter had been sent to the Metropolitan Council regarding the revised <br /> 17 Sump Pump program. The City is asking for a grant to assist with the implementation of this <br /> 18 program. In the meantime,Mr. Momson recommends the City ordinance remain in place but the <br /> 19 inspection program be abandoned until a response is received from the Metropolitan Council. . <br /> 20 Mr. Mornson stated that the number of sump pumps in residences has been reduced 7-8%to date <br /> 21 without the inspection program. <br /> 22 Mr. Mornson stated there had been a fire at the new liquor store on Friday September 4 due to <br /> 23 faulty light fixtures. He added there had been little damage but a large amount of cleanup is <br /> 24 required. He stated the light fixtures are under warranty and the supplier will be contacted for <br /> 25 damage reimbursement. <br /> 26 VIII. PUBLIC HEARINGS -None. <br /> 27 IX. NEW BUSINESS. <br /> 28 A. Resolution 98-068,re: Approve feasibility report and order plans and specifications for <br /> 29 1999 street improvements. <br /> 30 Todd Hubmer, WSB,presented the feasibility report for the proposed 1999 street reconstruction <br /> 31 program for Wilson Street from 27th Avenue to 29th Avenue; Pahl Avenue from Wilson Street <br /> 32 to Coolidge Street; alleys from Wilson Street to Coolidge Street south of Murray Avenue, south <br /> 33 of St. Anthony Blvd. and south of Pahl Avenue.
