April 18,2002
To The City of St.Anthony,
I am requesting a variance be granted to allow me to finish the entire second floor of our home under
construction at 3501 Downers Drive.
When making application for the building permit I worked with and met the city's requirements for
building to land ratio, overall structure height and all setbacks.
There is one section of the zoning code that I am running up against if I finish my second floor living
space. That is:Floor Area Ratio(1615.05)Subd 3. It states that the floor area ratio may not exceed.3.If I
finish the entire second floor of the home I will be at.38.
I believe that the floor area ratio should not apply because by finishing the second floor my home's exterior
appearance will not be altered in any way.I am simply finishing the floor area underneath the existing
trusses that is available to me.-+'s haO.1.6-`p 5 ca ksea by 1'.X C N, o ird,-&ruC_
I want to reiterate that my home meets all other city codes for lot coverage, setback and building height.
There would be absolutely no difference discernible from the exterior whether I am allowed to finish this
space or not.
I respectfully submit this request for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Thomas A.Brama
612-706-9999
