INFORMATION AND DISCUSSION. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Chair Stromgren stated that a memorandum was included in their packet regarding issues and <br /> 7 items within the City ordinances that he flagged for consideration for ordinance clean up. He <br /> 8 reviewed the memo items with the Commission. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Commissioner Tillman agreed that wording and verbiage issues should be further clarified and <br /> 11 that they should also address safety issues. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Ms Hall suggestion including the following: <br /> 14 • Prohibitions on basketball hoops and bird feeders—out of date language <br /> 15 • Home businesses are not addressed clearly <br /> 16 • Prairie native lands—yard restoration <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Chair Stromgren suggested that the Commissioners review the ordinances and provide Ms. Hall <br /> 19 with their suggestions and feedback. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Ms. Hall suggested prioritizing and discussing the larger issues with Council to gain their <br /> feedback on the priorities. <br /> LS <br /> 24 Commissioner Jensen suggested identifying one or two items per meeting for further discussion. <br /> 25 Chair Stromgren explained that it is his goal to hold one or two public hearings to review all of <br /> 26 the verbiage changes. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Commissioner Tillman suggested putting together a subcommittee that could review the verbiage <br /> 29 and put together a study of the issues for their review. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 XI. ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Ms. Hall provided the Commission with the following updates: <br /> 34 <br /> 35 • Silver Lake Village update—the liquor store is open for business. An Open House was held <br /> 36 last Thursday. <br /> 37 • Apache Plaza sign came down in late September. <br /> 38 • Fire Department is settling in at 3505 Silver Lake Road and really like their new home. <br /> 39 • Three Rivers Regional Park—is now open for public use. Their daily open hours are from <br /> 40 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with free parking. <br /> 41 • A special Mayoral election will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2004. <br /> 42 • Planning Commission vacancies—three vacancies, two seats with 3-year terms and one seat <br /> with a 1-year term. Anyone interested should submit a letter of interest with his or her <br /> resume to the City Manager by Monday,November 1, 2004 for consideration. <br /> 45 <br />
