October 25, 2004
The present tenants, future tenants and owners of the building at 2812 Anthony Lane
South in St. Anthony, Minnesota petition for a Sign Variance for the following reasons:
1) Granting the variance will not be detrimental to the public welfare or
injurious to other people in the neighborhood or village.
2) A hardship would develop for the occupants of this building if held to the
strict letter of the regulations because of the following reasons: There will
be 4 tenants in this building and all of the company's have walk-in clients.
The size of the sign per City Ordinance would not accommodate all four
of the company's names because the text would be quite long: Seal Guard
Systems, Inc., Associate Appraisers, Inc., Snow Larsen, Inc., and Twin
City Gold& Silver, Inc.
3) The conditions upon which we make application for a variance are based
are unique to the parcel of land for which the variance is souoght and are
not applicable, generally, to other property within the same land-use
classification. This building sits below Highway 88 and County Rd C and
the building only 16 feet high. The rooftop mechanical equipment
protrudes on top of the roof and is unattractive from Highway 88 and
County Rd C. Placing a sign higher than the top of the building around3,
sides would significantly improve the appearance of the building because
it would cover up the mechanical equipment and make the building look
newer.
