City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 26, 2016 <br />Page 4 <br />1 Mayor Faust stated it seems all that is needed is to complete the paperwork. He agreed the City <br />2 should participate in this program. <br />4 Councilmember Jensen complimented Kristin for taking the initiative and stated he is happy the <br />5 City is going forward with this process. <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />9 City Manager Casey reported that Police Chief John Oh and Captain Dominic Cotroneo will <br />10 retire effective August 31, 2016. Both have over 30 years of dedicated service to the City. City <br />11 Manager Casey has appointed John Mangseth as the new Police Chief and Jeff Spiess as the new <br />12 Captain who will be starting September 1, 2016. There will be presentation at the May 24, 2016, <br />13 City Council meeting. June 2, 2016 will be a public farewell. These dates will be put on the <br />14 website as it gets closer. <br />15 <br />16 Mayor Faust stated it is the City Manager's job to hire department heads and there has been a <br />17 plan in place for some time. He noted the transition time is valuable and it will be a smooth <br />18 transition. <br />19 <br />20 Councilmember Jensen stated on January 25, he attended the St. Anthony Fire Relief Association <br />21 meeting. On January 20, he attended the Kiwannis meeting as well as the History Committee <br />22 meeting. There has been a book published, More Pigs Than People, that is available at the <br />23 Community Center. <br />24 <br />25 Councilmember Stille stated the Council participated on January 14 -15 in the annual goal setting <br />26 retreat. <br />27 <br />28 Councilmember Brever had nothing to report. <br />29 <br />30 Mayor Faust stated the Council worked very hard on the goal setting session. On January 20, <br />31 Mayor Faust attended the Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization retreat and <br />32 goal setting, which is coming along. <br />33 <br />34 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />37 are not on the regular agenda. Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />38 <br />39 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS — NONE. <br />40 <br />41 X.
