CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 16 -032 <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE SUBMITTAL OF A HENNEPIN COUNTY <br />BICYCLE AND SIDEWALK GRANT APPLICATION <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony Village (the City) is constructing a Highway Safety <br />Improvement Project (the Project) for pedestrian safety with intersection <br />improvements and construction of new sidewalks; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's mission is to be a progressive and livable community, a walkable <br />village, which is sustainable, safe and secure; and <br />WHEREAS, the application to Hennepin County bicycle and sidewalk grant for new sidewalk <br />on Stinson Boulevard and 37h Avenue is consist with the City's sidewalk plan; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the sidewalk is implementing the findings of a Safe Route to Schools Study; and <br />WHEREAS, these sidewalks will also allow for safe harbor for commuters who load and <br />unload on 37`h Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, this application will include upgrades to four Hennepin County intersections for <br />ADA compliance; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has acquired the necessary ROW and prepared plans and specifications: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony: <br />1. Authorizes preparation and submittal for the 2016 Hennepin County Bicycle and <br />Sidewalk Grant Program funding with the necessary matching funds. <br />2.
