CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2016-02 <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION §32.39 TREE CARE <br />The City Council of the City of St. Anthony Village ordains as follows: <br />Section One. Amendment to the City of Saint Anthony Village City Code to Add Section <br />§32.39. Section §32.39 of the City Code of the City of Saint Anthony Village is hereby amended <br />as follows. The deleted language is represented by strikethrough text. The additional language <br />is represented by double underlined text. <br /> <br />(A) Definitions <br />(1) Street trees: "Street trees" are herein defined as trees, shrubs, bushes, and all other <br />woody vegetation in the public right-of-way within the City. <br />(2) Park Trees: "Park trees" are herein defined as trees, shrubs, bushes and all other <br />woody vegetation in public parks, and all areas owned by the City, or to which the public has <br />free access as a park. <br />(B) Creation and Establishment of a City Tree Board <br />There is hereby created and established a City Tree Board for the City of St. Anthony: which <br />shall consist of the members of the City of St. Anthony Parks Commission, who are appointed by <br />the City Council. <br />(1) Term of Office. The term of the five persons to be in accordance with the terms of <br />the City of St. Anthony Parks Commission. <br />(2) Compensation . Members of the board shall serve without additional compensation. <br />(3) Duties and Responsibilities. It shall be the responsibility of the Board to study, <br />investigate, council, develop and/or update, and administer a written plan for the care, <br />preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, <br />along streets and in other public areas. Such plan will be presented to the City Council and upon <br />their acceptance and approval shall constitute the official comprehensive city tree plan for the <br />City. The Board, when requested by the City Council shall consider, investigate, make finding, <br />report and recommend upon any special matter of question coming within the scope of its work. <br />57
