VILLAGE OF ST. ANT]iONY <br /> • COUNCIL MEETING <br /> August 19, 1968 <br /> A special meeting of the Village Council was called to order by the Mayor <br /> at 7:00 o'clock P. M. <br /> Present: O'Connor, Dougherty, Emond. <br /> Absent: Crouse, Springer. <br /> Also Present: Village Manager, John Printon. <br /> A review of bids as opened at 12 :00 o'clock noon this date for Improvement <br /> 1968-4 was as follows: <br /> Palda & Sons, Inc. $542,354.13 <br /> Arcon Construction Company 585,306.27 <br /> C. S. McCrossan, Inc. 525,615.29 <br /> Victor Carlson & Sons, Inc. 579,950.00 <br /> The recommendation of the Village Engineer to accept the low bid of C. S. <br /> McCrossan, Inc. was discussed at length. It was pointed out that this was <br /> the first concrete paving job of the McCrossan firm and that they held a <br /> similar contract with the Village of New Brighton but to date no concrete <br /> paving has been laid. <br /> Councilman Emond moved and seconded by Councilman Dougherty that the low bid <br /> of C. S. 11cCrossan, Inc. be accepted for construction of Improvement 1968-4 in <br /> the amount of $525,615.29 and that the Mayor and Village Manager be authorized <br /> to enter into contract for said work on behalf of the Village. <br /> Voting on the motion. <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Emond, Dougherty. <br /> Nay: None. <br /> Absent not voting: Crouse, Springer. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Robert Martin, Springsted and Associates, reviewed the bonding program, <br /> and explained the differential in the 10, 15, and 20 year amortization program. <br /> The Resolution setting the conditions and date of bond sale was explained in <br /> detail by Mr. Martin. <br /> Mayor O'Connor introduced Resolution #68-043 and moved its adoption. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 68-043 <br /> RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE PUBLIC SALE OF <br /> $960,000.00 IMPROVEMENT BONDS OF 1968. <br /> The Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Emond. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye : O'Connor, Dougherty, Emond. <br /> Nay : None. <br />
