f <br /> VILLAGE OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> COUNCI L'MI MUTES <br /> Dec9mber 10, 1968 <br /> The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 8:00 o'clock P. M. <br /> The following were present at roll call : O'Connor, Springer, Dougherty, Emond, <br /> Crouse. <br /> Absent: None. <br /> Also Present: Village Attorney, David Doty <br /> Village Manager, John Printon <br /> It was noted that Mr. Mark Whitehead represented Mr. Haik as legal counsel. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Springer that the minutes of <br /> the meeting of November 26, 1968 be approved with the above correction as noted. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mrs. Wilk presented the minutes of the Human Relations Committee meeting of November <br /> 20, 1968. A request to meet with local ministers was directed to be placed in <br /> writing to the Council. Mrs. Arleigh Peterson asked that a teacher-pupil represen- <br /> tative from each of the Village's elementary schools be represented on an advisory <br /> board. Councilman Crouse suggested the request be submitted in writing to the <br /> Council. The question of presenting proposals in writing was discussed. Councilman <br /> Dougherty felt the plans as presented were satisfactory. Councilman Emond felt the <br /> plans were not objectionable provided that the School Board did not object. Council- <br /> man Crouse felt that the School Board should be consulted before approval is given <br /> by the Council. lie further stated, that he felt that the School Board should be <br /> fully informed of the matter. Motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by <br /> Councilman Emond that the aforementioned requests of the Human Relations Committee <br /> to expand the sub-committees to include a teacher-pupil member from each of the <br /> elementary schools be approved. <br /> Councilman Emond offered an amendment to the foregoing motion; "subject to the <br /> approval of the School Board. Councilman Springer seconded the amendment to the <br /> motion. <br /> Voting on the amendments <br /> Aye: Springer, Emond. <br /> Nay: O'Connor, Crouse, Dougherty. <br /> Amendment not carried. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Ayes Dougherty, Springer. <br /> May: O'Connor, Crouse, Emond. <br /> Motion not carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Mayor O'Connor that the request of the <br /> Human Relations Committee be submitted to the School Board for approval . <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Ordinance 37B was introduced for consideration. Motion by Councilman Crouse and <br /> seconded by Mayor O'Connor that the rules be waived and Ordinance 37B be adopted <br /> on first reading. <br /> Voting on the approval of the Ordinance: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Crouse, Emond. <br /> Nay: None. <br />
