-4- <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke and seconded by Councilman Levandowski to approve the <br /> first reading of Ordinance 1970-14 regarding the control of air pollution. <br /> ORDINANCE 1970-14 <br /> AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR REGULATIONS <br /> AND CONTROL OF AIR POLLUTION, ADOPTING <br /> BY REFERENCE REGULATIONS OF THE MINNESOTA <br /> POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY, IMPOSING A <br /> PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEAL- <br /> ING SECTION 700.01 OF THE 1968 CODE OF <br /> ORDINANCES, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE 1969-6 <br /> AND REPEALING SECTIONS 700.02, 700.03, <br /> 700.040 AND 700.05 OF THE 1968 CODE OF <br /> ORDINANCES. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Miedtke declared a ten minute recess at 9:45 P.M. <br /> The meeting was reconvened at 9:55 P.M. All present who answered opening roll <br /> call. <br /> Bill Sauer representing the St. Anthony Gavel Club appeared discussing their <br /> activities for AWARE WEEK scheduled for October 12 through 18 and asked about <br /> the possibility of some high school students sitting in on the Council meeting <br /> of October 13, 1970, as part of the week's activities. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke and seconded by Councilman Englund to conduct the next <br /> council meeting, October 13, 1970, at the High School as part of AWARE WEEK and <br /> that the Mayor be authorized to establish the procedures to be used with the <br /> Student Council. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Levandowski directing the <br /> Village Manager to write to the Minnesota State Commissioner supporting the <br /> statement of the Hennepin County Assessor regarding State Equalization, 1970. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Levandowski that the <br /> Village remove itself from receiving a donation from the United Fund and pay <br /> this bill ourself, which amounts to approximately $500.00 and that this be <br /> incorporated into the 1971 budget. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Englund to direct the <br /> Village Manager to sit in on the fact-finding panel as the Village's represent- <br /> ative, in regard to the suspension of Joseph Sturdevant. <br /> • Motion carried. <br />
