Mr. Dulgar was given further <br /> direction regarding proceeding the establishment of a bikeway. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedke, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the City <br /> Manager and Attorney to take action to require the Minneapolis Park Board to <br /> provide adequate access and turning lanes along Stinson Blvd. from Lowry <br /> Avenue to St. Anthony Boulevard to accomodate emergency vehicles within the <br /> boundaries of St. Anthony. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Miedtke, Stauffer <br /> Nay: Haik, Sauer, Sundland <br /> Motion not carried. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct a letter be <br /> sent to the Minneapolis Park Board informing them that by their actions in <br /> restricting traffic flow along Stinson Blvd. from Lowry Avenue N.F. to St. <br /> Anthony Blvd. , they are assuming the responsibility for hazards to the health <br /> and safety of the citizens of St. Anthony. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Miedtke, Sundland, Stauffer, Sauer (qualified) <br /> Nay: ' Haik <br /> Motion carried. <br /> It was decided that the next newsletter should carry a general statement re- <br /> garding a raise in metro sewer rates and at the request of Councilman Haik, the <br /> pending policy on street assessments and long range road improvement program <br /> was to be noted as well as the imminence of a decision on the repair and <br /> replacement of 29th Avenue N.F. <br /> The letter from Apple Valley regarding the metro growth policy draft was filed <br /> as inform tional. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the City <br /> Manager to inform Hennepin County that the City does not intend to participate <br /> in the costs connected with the Hennepin County Road Construction Program. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> No action was taken on the request from the Metro Council for participation <br /> in recommendations to the legislature. <br /> The August 7,197+ letter from the Metro Council regarding regional recreation <br /> open space was discussed and the following motion was made: <br />
