CITY OF ST. ANTHONY
COUNCIL MINUTES
. August 12, 1975
There being less than a quorum of the Council members, e.e: Mayor Miedtke and
Councilman Sauer, in attendance the meeting was not formally called to order.
Present and participating in the informal discussions which were held from 7:30
to 9:03 P.M. were: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager; Jim Fornell, Adm. Asst., and
Larry Hamer, Supt, of Public Works.
Mr. Hamer presented the video taping of the sanitary sewer system extending
along 29th Avenue N.E. from Highway 8 to Coolidge St. N.F. Any problems in the
line were indicated and commented upon as well as the areas where service lines
from residences flowed into the sanitary system. The assumption was made that
this flowage must be from drain tiles connected to the sanitary lines since the
film was shot at 2:00 A.M. when there would normally be a minimum of household
waste passing thru the lines.
The Superintendent was commended for his efforts which had resulted in the City
of St. Anthony being allowed to rent Columbia Heights' expensive closed circuit
T.V. equipment.
Mr. Fran Schuck of Constructive Design was present and commented on the report
he had prepared regarding the time schedule and cost of remodeling Parkview
School for use as a city hall.
• The group moved outside the school to view the area on the south side on 33rd
Avenue N.F. where a driveway is being considered and also looked at the class-
room which is to be converted to administration offices.
The architect also pointed out that his plans included utilizing the heating and
ventilating system with only a few minor changes with air conditioning provided
in most cases by the wall units now in use at City Hall. There was also a
discussion of how the intercom system in the school could be hooked up for city
use.
The Mayor ruled that a Special Council Meeting would be held August 19th to
enable the Council to consider the architects recommendations and the other
business which had been on the agenda for that evening.
He also said it might be necessary for the Council to meet every Tuesday until
October in order to complete the work on the zoning ordinance and the budget.
Mayor Miedtke also said he planned to make a formal presentation August 26th or
August 27th of the certificate for the St. Anthony High School Band for winning
lst place in the Aquatennial Parade.
_La..iR W Azxe_,_
Mayor
ATTEST•
Clerk
• 4Man
