-4-
motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to
approve payment of all Verified Claims listed in the October 9 ,
1979 Agenda.
Motion carried unanimously.
The Manager assured Councilmen Sauer and Letourneau that he would
negotiate the reimbursement of the amount due the City from McCombs-
Knutson before releasing the check for their engineering services
on the watermain relocation on Highway 88 .
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Mayor Haik to approve
payment of $295. 50 to McCombs-Knutson for services listed in their-
statement of September 15, 1979 .
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Letourneau
to approve payment of $2 , 400 to the George M. Hansen Company for
the 1978 audit of the City.
Motion carried unanimously.
Al Perez, of the Pollution Control Agency, was present to discuss the
noise surveys prepared by Community Services Officer Schliesing.
He noted the data for Skycroft Drive seemed to support the contention
of residents on that street that their street is unusually noisy.
A suspected source of this noise is the public address system on the
high school grounds , but Mr. Perez thought loud vehicles were also
partially responsible for raising the noise levels . He said Officer
Schliesing feels a noise ordinance would help cut down the noise
on Skycroft, but Mr. Perez suggested the City could be the first
municipality to avail itself of the program being formulated by the
League of Cities which could assist the City in determining how to
deal with the noise problem. He agreed to put his recommendations
in a memorandum to the City which will also clarify his translation
of the data in the noise surveys in terms of decibels and pitch.
Councilman Ranallo wanted the Manager's recommendation regarding the
enforcement of a faulty equipment ordinance pursued as well .
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Mayor Haik to adjourn
the meeting at 8 :25 p.m.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor
ATTEST:
City Clerk
Reviewed for dmi i tr on:
i a age
