ANTHONY <br /> 3 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> 4 <br /> 5 August 13, 2002 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 CALL TO ORDER. <br /> 8 Mayor Hodson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> 11 Mayor Hodson invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 ROLL CALL. <br /> 14 Present: Mayor Hodson; Councilmembers Horst, Sparks, Thuesen, and Faust. <br /> 15 Absent: None. <br /> 16 Also Present: City Manager Mike Mornson. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br /> 19 ITEMS. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 I. APPROVAL OF AUGUST 13, 2002 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br /> 22 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, second by Councilmember Faust, to approve the City <br /> 23 Council Meeting Agenda of August 13, 2002. <br /> 0 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br /> 28 None. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 III. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br /> 31 Mayor Hodson invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items <br /> 32 that are not on the regular agenda. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Richard Schwaab, 2913 Northeast Stinson Boulevard, indicated that he lives on the Southeast <br /> 35 corner of the Old Village Cemetery between 27`h Avenue and Stinson Boulevard. He stated that <br /> 36 there has been standing water on the Southeast corner of the cemetery nearly all summer long <br /> 37 due to the great amount of rainfall this season. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Schwaab stated that with the Blue Nile and encephalitis scare, he decided to contact the <br /> 40 maintenance supervisor and suggested that they dump some dirt in the area to bring up the level <br /> 41 and provide more ground surface to soak up the water. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 He added that the maintenance supervisor suggested that one possible solution would be to run a <br /> 44 sewer line in the area, which is about a$10,000 cost. Schwaab felt that was unnecessary, and <br /> 45 that dumping dirt in the area should help the problem. <br /> 0 Mayor Hodson assured Schwaab that they would look into the problem. <br /> 48 <br />
