ANTHONY <br /> 2 <br /> 3 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> 4 <br /> 5 October 8, 2002 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 CALL TO ORDER. <br /> 8 Mayor Hodson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> 11 Mayor Hodson invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 ROLL CALL. <br /> 14 Present: Mayor Hodson; Councilmembers Horst, Sparks, Thuesen, and Faust. <br /> 15 Absent: None. <br /> 16 Also Present: City Manager Mike Mornson. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION,AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br /> 19 ITEMS. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 I. APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 8, 2002 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Sparks to approve the City Council Meeting Agenda of October 8, <br /> 2002. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br /> 28 A. Presentation of Appreciation Plaque to Merle Fischer. <br /> 29 Jay Hartman, Director of Public Works, stated he is pleased to take this opportunity to recognize <br /> 30 Merle Fischer for over 25 years of service with both the Army and Air National Guard. Mr. <br /> 31 Hartman introduced Mr. Fischer and his family members. He explained that Mr. Fischer has <br /> 32 recently returned after a seven-month deployment due to the events of September 11, 2001. Mr. <br /> 33 Hartman reviewed Mr. Fischer's 25-year history of service to the United States of America <br /> 34 which included action during Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation <br /> 35 Freedom Eagle. He advised that Mr. Fischer's United States Air Force occupation is C-130 <br /> 36 Flight Medic and he will retire in February of 2003. Mr. Hartman stated Mr. Fischer, for the <br /> 37 past 10 years, has been employed as a utilities operator for the City of St. Anthony. In addition, <br /> 38 Mr. Fischer enjoys coaching his three active daughters, fishing, and hunting. Mr. Hartman <br /> 39 congratulated Mr. Fischer for 25 years of service in the Air National Guard. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Mayor Hodson read in full and presented Merle Fischer with a plaque of appreciation for his <br /> 42 service to the United States of America for the past 25 years in the Air National Guard. <br /> 43 <br /> 0 Mr. Fischer thanked the Council for this recognition. <br />
