ANTHONY <br /> 3 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> 4 <br /> 5 SEPTEMBER 23, 2003 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 CALL TO ORDER <br /> 8 Mayor Hodson called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> 11 Mayor Hodson invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 ROLL CALL. <br /> 14 Present: Mayor Hodson; Councilmembers Horst, Sparks, Thuesen, and Faust. <br /> 15 Absent: None. <br /> 16 Also Present: City Manager Mike Mornson and City Attorney Jerome Gilligan. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION,AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br /> 19 ITEMS. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 I. APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 23, 2003, CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br /> 22 Motion by Councilmember Sparks to approve the City Council Meeting Agenda of September <br /> 0 23, 2003. <br /> 25 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br /> 28 A. Proclamation for St. Anthony Kiwanis Peanut Day. <br /> 29 Councilmember Sparks read the proclamation designating Friday, September 26, 2003, as St. <br /> 30 Anthony Kiwanis Peanut Day in order to raise funds for its many and varied programs. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen to approve the proclamation designating Friday, September <br /> 33 26, 2003, as St. Anthony Kiwanis Peanut Day. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Councilmember Sparks asked for a demonstration and the Kiwanis members offered bags of <br /> 36 peanuts in exchange for donations. It was noted this was the Kiwanis' 32nd year of asking for <br /> 37 donations in St. Anthony Village. It was added young children were their first priority. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 III. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br /> 42 Pat Baker, 3223 Croft Drive, stated she had lived in the community approximately two years and <br /> 43 this was a community where many homes had been sold to young people with small families. <br /> 44 She indicated these were good homes in a good location that were selling for"top dollar." She <br /> 16 noted St. Anthony was an"up and coming"city; however, taxes had been increasing. <br />
