<br /> RE: Your request for information on facility utilization of
<br /> the existing community center
<br /> 1 . The current gym is in use from approximately 6: 30 a.m. to
<br /> 6 :00 p.m. , Monday through Friday for Community Services
<br /> programs . Community Services also uses the gym throughout
<br /> a calendar year during the week or on the weekends for a
<br /> variety of classes and activities such as : Dog Obedience,
<br /> Family Gym Nite, Basketball for Adults, Jazzercise, Teen
<br /> Time, Dance, Volleyball, Walking Program, Halloween Carnival,
<br /> Egg Hunt , Variety Show, etc. These classes are held on a
<br /> quarterly basis . As you are well aware, Community Services
<br /> programs are eliminated and developed, based on community
<br /> need.
<br /> 2 . The current gym is in use from 6 :00 p.m. to 10 : 00 p.m. ,
<br /> Monday through Friday, on Saturdays from 10 :00 a.m.
<br /> through 5 :00 p.m. , and on Sundays from 11 :00 a.m. to 2 : 00
<br /> • p.m. and from 4 : 00 p.m. to 7 :00 p.m. , beginning in September
<br /> through May for Sports Boosters basketball . They begin to
<br /> use the facility the heaviest from October through March and
<br /> It is used less frequently in September, April, and May.
<br /> Sports Boosters also use it periodically throughout the
<br /> remaining months of the year for a variety of purposes .
<br /> 3 . Other community groups use the gymnasium based on a space-
<br /> available basis and around the schedules of Community
<br /> Services and Sports Boosters . The City of St . Anthony
<br /> however, has priority and does use it for elections, and
<br /> occasionally the police department will reserve the gym.
<br /> Other community groups and/or organizations who utilized the
<br /> gym this past year include: high school, Family Life In
<br /> America, and Nativity Lutheran Church.
<br /> 4. Community groups that use space other than the gym include:
<br /> Huskie football parents and players, Minnesota Department of
<br /> Education, Arsenal Clean-up Project , Girl Scout Cookie Pick-
<br /> Up, Minnesota Swim, Foss Road Homeowners Assn. , Mirror Lake
<br /> Homeowners Association, Medica, St . Anthony Civic Orchestra,
<br /> 6 Cub Scout Packs, 1 Boy Scout Troop, 1 Brownie Troop, 5 Girl
<br /> Scout Troops, and 1 Campfire group, Sports Boosters
<br /> Administration, Basketball Sign-up, Baseball Sign-up, T-Ball
<br /> Sign-up, Softball Sign-up, Soccer Sign-up, Fall Soccer Sign
<br /> up, Football Sign-up, Baseball Pictures, Football Meetings,
<br /> • NYSCA Coaches Clinic, Minnesota Recreational Soccer League,
<br /> Soccer Referee Clinics, Charitable Gambling Board Meetings,
<br /> High School/Middle School Dances (only when H. S. space is
<br /> unavailable) , Sports Boosters Parents Meetings,
