ANTHONY VILLAGE
3301 Silver Lake Road
St. Anthony,Minnesota 55418-1699
Dear Mr. Mornson,
Thank you for your letter of January 24, 1996. I have been intending to contact
the City since we managed to avoid foreclosure November 30, 1995. As part of
our refinance, a$10,000.00 construction fund has been established by our lender
• to assist us in completing our home construction.
Following receipt of your letter,Mr. Rolf Widlund of SCANDINAVIAN HOME
CONSTRUCTION was hired to complete our garage construction. In response to
your letter I asked Mr. Widlund to contact the City Offices to advise Mr. Hamer
that we were making plans to proceed with our construction, and I'm told that he
has recently had one or two conversations with Mr. Hamer or the building
inspector about our construction plans. Mr. Widlund hopes to begin the
completion of our garage within the month and anticipates that construction may
take less than a month, weather permitting.
Unfortunately, completion of the garage will consume almost the entire
$10,000.00 construction fund so the remaining work to be completed on our house
will have to be done mostly by us,with perhaps some volunteer help. This will
obviously take longer than would be required by a professional builder, never the
less I feel all work could be satisfactorily completed within the terms of a six
month building permit.
Of equal concern is the threatening tone of the letter from the City Prosecutors,
Foster, Ojile,Wentzell and Brever. Perhaps this is partly due to the date of the
letter allegedly sent by you on January 17, 1996. Your letter which we received is
dated January 24, 1996 possibly giving the City Prosecutors the impression that
more time had elapsed
