•
MEMORANDUM
DATE: May 1, 1996
TO: Michael Morrison, City Manager
FROM: Don Perry, Liquor Operations Manager
ITEM: COMPUTERIZATION OF SAV I AND SAV II
The following is in regard to the installation of a computerized register system
at both St. Anthony Liquor Stores.
After researching different systems, it is my recommendation that the Total
Register System bid be accepted as the equipment to be used at SAV I and SAV
H. The cost per location would be $18,598.50, or a total of$37,197, not
• including tax.
It would be to our advantage to install a computerized cash register system as
soon as possible. Installation of the system at SAV I prior to the beginning of
the third quarter would allow us to prepare the system to be online at that store
for the start of the second half of the year. This would allow cost tracking as
well as sales tracking, giving us the capability of monthly profit reports.
It would also be to our advantage to install the computerized system at SAV H
immediately. This store could begin with a two station set up that would lower
the installation to $13,522.50. An additional station could be added upon a
need-be basis, with the additional cost of approximately $5,000.
These costs cover installation, all the initial management and staff training, as
well as the database and communication modems.
Brian Anderson of Total Register Systems is available to attend the work
session or future meetings to answer any questions you or the Council may have
concerning the system.
•
