CITY OF ST. ANTHONY AND ST. ANTHONY/ 3 7 <br /> • NEW BRIGHTON SCHOOL DISTRICT NO.-282 <br /> MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony (the "City") and the St. Anthony/New Brighton <br /> School District No. 282 (ISD #282), in compliance with "Laws of <br /> 1995, Chapter 8" of the Minnesota State Legislature, and to better <br /> coordinate local General Elections, desire to combine the elections of <br /> the City Council and School Board and to hold said combined elections <br /> on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in odd <br /> numbered years beginning with the local General Election in 1995; and <br /> WHEREAS, to accomplish the combined elections and pursuant to Minnesota State <br /> Statutes, Section 205A.04, the School Board of ISD #282 has elected <br /> to hold its General Elections to coincide with City Council General <br /> Elections on odd numbered years. In addition, the School Board has <br /> established a schedule for School Board members' terms to be <br /> lengthened to expire on the January 1 st following the date on which <br /> the terms would otherwise have expired. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: <br /> • 1) the City Clerk will conduct all local General Elections; <br /> 2) City-owned voting equipment will be used; <br /> 3) for the 1996 ISD #282 School Board election, the School District will <br /> reimburse the City $250.00 per precinct for a total cost of $750.00; a fee <br /> for costs associated with future local elections will be negotiated when <br /> appropriate; <br /> 4) whenever there is an ISD #282 election without City items on the ballot, ISD <br /> #282 may either conduct the election on its own or contract with the City <br /> for the services of the City Clerk to conduct the Special Election in the <br /> manner in which the combined local General Elections are conducted; <br /> 5) the City will pay the full cost of any local General Elections for which ISD <br /> No. 282 has no item on the ballot; <br /> 6) ISD #282 will hold harmless the City in the conduct of elections. <br /> CITY OF ST.
