. ain tho
H e
Administrative Offices
3301 Silver Lake Road, St. Anthony, Minnesota 55418-1699
(612) 789-8881 FAX (612) 781-9323
Date
Dear Sir or Madam:
You are invited to send a representative from your firm to an informational meeting concerning
new regulations for sump pump connections as specified in the City of St. Anthony's amended
sanitary sewer discharge ordinance. Please join us for about half an hour on
at at the St. Anthony City HalUCommunity Center, 3301 Silver Lake Road. Snacks
• and beverages will be provided.
As part of the new ordinance, the City will begin inspecting private home sump pump
connections beginning in . Homeowners whose sump pumps are connected to
the sanitary sewer system, or whose pumps drain through easily moveable flexible hoses will be
required to install rigid connections which drain outside the home, either to the storm sewer or
into the yard.
This informational meeting serves a dual purpose. First, it's one way of letting you know about
the new rules. Those homeowners whose sump connections fail inspection and can't or don't
want to correct their own systems will doubtless call in a professional. If that professional is
you, you'll want to be sure your work will pass the inspection.
Second, we're compiling a list of area plumbers willing to do this kind of work. If homeowners
ask the inspector who can fix their system, they'll be handed the list. This will not constitute a
recommendation from the City. If you'd like to be on the list, please come to the meeting and
let us know you'd like to be included.
Sincerely,
• Michael Mornson
City Manager
