SECTION 306 - PARKS COMMISSION PROPOSED <br /> 306.01 Purpose. The City of St. Anthony does now operate and maintain public parks <br /> for the benefit and pleasure of its residents. A City Parks Commission is hereby <br /> established to advise the City Council regarding the promotion of the systematic, - <br /> comprehensive and effective development of park facilities necessary for the overall <br /> health, ability and well being of City residents of all ages. <br /> 306.02 Membership. The Parks Commission will consist of 7 voting members, all of <br /> whom will be residents of the City appointed by affirmative vote of a majority of the <br /> members of the Council. <br /> 306.03 Terms of Office. Members shall serve three-year terms. The first commission <br /> shall be appointed as follows: <br /> 2 members 1-year terms <br /> 3 members 2-year terms <br /> 2 members 3-year terms <br /> Thereafter, members shall be appointed to 3-year terms when the original term of office <br /> expires, except where a vacancy occurs in the middle of a term. In which case, the <br /> appointment will be for the duration of the unexpired term. Members of the Parks <br /> Commission shall be residents of the City throughout their term of office. <br /> 306.04 Vacancies. Any of the following will cause the office of a Parks Commission <br /> member to become vacated: <br /> (a) Death. <br /> (b) Disability or failure to serve. <br /> (c) Removal of legal resident from the City. <br /> (d) Resignation in writing. <br /> (e) Failure to uphold the oath of office. <br /> (f) Failure to attend 4 or more scheduled meetings of the Parks Commission <br /> in a calendar year, unless waived by the City Council after a written <br /> request from the Parks Commission member. <br /> The City will publish an open invitation to all residents interested in serving on the <br /> Parks Commission to inform the City Manager in writing of their interest and desire to <br /> be interviewed for a seat on the Parks Commission. <br /> 306.05 Compensation. The Parks Commission members will serve without <br /> compensation. <br /> . 306.06 Powers and Duties. The powers and duties of the Parks Commission shall be <br /> as follows: <br />
