I'm interested in serving on this advisory committee. I want to become more
involved in programs that improve the quality of life for residents in St. Anthony.
. My interest stems from a variety of park experiences throughout my lifetime. As a child growing
up in St. Anthony, I considered myself a"regular" at Silver Point Park during the summer and
winter months. I graduated from St. Anthony High School in the mid 70's and utilized the
programs and equipment at Central Park as well. I then went off to college, and received my
degree from the University of Minnesota in Parks and Recreation. I worked for the City of New
Brighton during college, received an internship with the City of Brooklyn Center in their Parks
and Recreation Department, and finally landed a professional job with the City of Golden Valley
in the early 1980's. I am no longer working in the recreation field, but would like to use some of
the skills and experiences I have gained in a volunteer role.
Please consider my appointment to this advisory committee. I would be a dedicated and
committed member of the group. Creating a safe and inviting park system for residents of St.
Anthony would be an exciting opportunity. You can reach me by phone during the day at my
office, or at home in the evening (numbers listed above). I look forward to hearing from you in
the near future.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
V A&;
Joanne V. Kosciolek
