1997 expenditures $1,156,173 <br /> Less: <br /> Carbon filtration operation and maintenance ($ 94,240) <br /> Depreciation for water/sewer mains & lines ($ 68,756) <br /> Reimbursement for administration costs ($ 12,353) <br /> Total Expenditures $ 980,824 <br /> *The City received reimbursement for administrative expenses associated with the <br /> operation & maintenance of the Carbon Filtration Plant. The $12,353 is part of the <br /> $114,232 listed as water reimbursements (monies derived from the MPCA agreement). <br /> This analysis indicates that the Utility Rates for 1997 were adequate to balance the 1997 <br /> Operating Budget. It also reveals that there is commingling of the Water Filtration <br /> numbers and the Water/Sewer numbers. <br /> I think establishing a separate schedule for the Water Filtration numbers in the financial <br /> statements would provide a clearer presentation of the numbers. If Council agrees, I <br /> will advise the auditor accordingly. <br />
