® MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: January 7, 1999 <br /> TO: Mike Mornson, City Manager <br /> FROM: Roger Larson, Finance Director <br /> ITEM: Y2K - INVENTORY/SYSTEMS CHECK <br /> Y2K has been an on-going research and development project for the Finance <br /> Department. Computer purchases made in the last three years have reflected a Y2K <br /> compliance philosophy. <br /> The first upgrade to Y2K compliance was the purchase and installation of CATS wiring <br /> throughout the entire new City Hall building. This wiring allowed the City to establish <br /> a computer network that is primarily compliant to year 2000 and will provide us with <br /> service for years to come. <br /> A focus on the Administration/Finance area's inventory is as follows: <br /> Banking Services <br /> Firstar St. Anthony <br /> Assessment 100% Completed <br /> Code Renovation 100% Completed <br /> Regression Testing 100% Completed <br /> Year 2000 Testing 93% Completed <br /> Investment Services <br /> All vendors (7) are working on Y2K Compliance. Most have formed <br /> Task Forces/Y2K Compliance Committees and are working diligently to assure <br /> Y2K compliance with minimal inconvenience and without disruption of service. <br /> Computers (*Non-Compliant or Status Unknown) <br /> Hardware: <br /> 5 - P.C's Y2K Compliant (Finance) <br /> 4 - P.C's Y2K Compliant (Administration/Council) <br /> * 1 - System 36 Mainframe Non-Compliant (Scheduled for replacement '99) <br /> IBM Dot Matrix Printer Y2K Compliant $32,500 <br /> 2 - H.P.
