She also asked if it 3 would be possible to invite CSO's to their Parks meeting so that they Police are more aware of is 4 some of the issues associated with vandalism in the parks. The Council suggested having 5 volunteers to patrol the parks and directed the City Manager to speak with the Police Chief 6 regarding the use of DARE officers to patrol the parks. 7 8 Jindra reported that the Commissioners have pursued the possibility of leasing the fields next to 9 Unisys while the parks are being redeveloped. She agreed that it may be too late this year to 10 use those fields if an agreement is reached but that next year seems more likely. Jindra also 11 asked about the possibility of plantings for the comer of 33`d Avenue NE and Silver Lake 12 Road. She indicated that the plantings and the replacement of the evergreen trees would 13 certainly enhance the look of that corner. She also asked that the Council consider putting 14 recycling cans/bins by the tennis courts. She reported that often the players are drinking 15 bottled water or juice and have no place to put the empty aluminum or plastic containers but in 16 the trash can. 17 18 Jindra asked about installing a mailbox at City Hall/Community Center; skateboard site; and 19 the status of filling the Parks Commission vacant positions. 20 21 V.
