RESOLUTION NO. 65-034 Resolution Urging the 1965 Legislature to Include All of St. Anthony In a Legislative District That is Ie.entified blith the County of Hennepin. WHEREAS, the 1965 Minnesota Legislature is considering bills to apportion legislative districts; and, t:!HEREAS, newspaper reports indicate that consideration is beng given to a change in the 41st Legislative District which would ex Jude the Hennepin County portion of the Village of St. Anthony from the 41st District; and, lJHEREAS, the Village of St. Anthony consists of lands located in the County of Ramsey and in the County of Hennepin; and, 11HEREAS, in prior years, the Village Council and residents of the Village have sought to have all of the lands within the boundaries of St. Anthony Village included in one legislative district; and, UHEREAS, the proposals reported to the Council appear to place the Hennepin County portion of the Village of St. Anthony in a legislative district with lands in Anoka County, thereby continuing to leave the • Ramsey County portion of the Village in another legislative district; and, !1HEREAS, the Village of St. Anthony has had a traditional identification and community of interest with the northeast portion of the City of !Minneapolis, which would be impared by a legislative apport- ionment that would identify the Village of St. Anthony with Anoka County; NOl1 T!iEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of St. Anthony urge the 1965 Legislature to include St. Anthony Village in a legislative district that is identified with the County of Hennepin and to provide for the inclusion of all of the lands of St. Anthony Village, including the Ramsey County lands, in the new legislative district.
